Menelaeus
Menelaeus king of Sparta, husband of Helen, brother of Agamemnon, Latinized form of Gk. Menelaos, lit. "restraining the people," from menein "to stay, abide, remain" + laos "people" (see LAY (Cf. lay) (adj.)).
