moldwarp
moldwarp (n.) also mouldwarp, early 14c., moldewarp, from P.Gmc. *moldo-worpo(n)-, lit. "earth-thrower," from to O.E. molde "earth, soil" (see MOLE (Cf. mole) (2) + weorpan "to throw" (see WARP (Cf. warp) (v.)). Common Germanic, Cf. O.S. moldwerp, Du. mulworp, Norw. moldvarp, Dan. muldvarp, O.H.G. multwurf, Ger. Maulwurf (influenced by Maul "mouth").
