mighty
mighty (adj.) O.E. mihtig, earlier mæhtig, from miht (see MIGHT (Cf. might) (n.)). Cf. O.Fris. mechtig, O.S. mahtig, Du. machtig, Ger. mächtig. As an adverb, it is attested from c.1300, though now considered colloquial.
