expeditious
expeditious late 15c., expedycius "useful, fitting," from L. expeditus "disengaged, ready, prompt," pp. of expidere (see EXPEDITE (Cf. expedite)). Meaning "speedy" is from 1590s. Related: Expeditiously; expeditiousness.
